We all live busy lives and tend to get lost in to-do lists, schedules and calendars. It's easy to lose perspective amongst the various tasks that daily demand our attention. In order to stay on track with the purpose and calling God has placed on our lives, it sometimes requires us to step back and reevaluate to make sure we are heading in the right direction.
Over the years, by God’s grace our team has grown to 15 members. We believe that it’s important to invest in our staff members therefore this past December our team has gathered up and headed out to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for our Annual Staff Retreat. It was a great opportunity to spent three days in a lodge, overlooking the gorgeous Smoky Mountains. Our time was spent building the team, seeking God’s presence and making plans for the upcoming year. God spoke to us through many of our team members during staff devotionals. We had time to share our struggles and pray for each other.
Every morning began with worship and prayer. It was followed by a family style breakfast, where we had time to sit and enjoy each others company. The day was filled with various workshops, seminars and meetings and every evening we gathered around a blazing fire. Our staff ended the retreat with new strength, motivated and excited to begin a new year in the life of Slavic Missionary Bible School.
The Slavic Missionary Bible School is a non-profit, Christian education center designed for the American Slavic community.
Many people wonder how a ministry such as SMBS can sustain itself.
